Location
The Caribbean Island of St Martin is one of the Windward Islands.
It is 2 islands in 1: "St Martin" belongs to the
French West Indies and "St Maarten" to the Netherlands
Antilles.
How to get there
Flights to Juliana International Airport.
Transfers
Taxis from the airport approx. 30 mins, approx. cost $26 per
journey.

Reception
Open 7 days a week from 08.00hrs to 17.00hrs Check out time
is 11.00hrs. If you have a late departure you may store your
luggage and make use of shower and change facilities. The
hotel reception will advise you about excursions and cruises.
Air-conditioned cars are also available for hire. Services
include telephone, fax, Email, Internet connection; taxi or
restaurant reservations, laundry service and library.
Around and about
Moving between Dutch and French sectors is no problem: there
is no customs or immigration control, the only border being
a simple signpost by the side of the road.
St Martin is a free port with no import duties or sales taxes.
A shoppers' paradise. The main shopping areas are in Philipsburg
(Dutch Capital) and in Marigot (French Capital).
Beaches and activities
The magnificent sandy beach at Orient Bay is now designated
as a clothes-optional beach, with "textile" visitors
particularly at weekends. Beach loungers and umbrellas are
provided. Club Orient fronts the open-ended beach which is
wide, unpolluted and protected from the open Atlantic by a
coral reef, sandy and shelving, making it safe for children.
There is an 18-hole golf course on the island.
Horse riding ("clothed") is available just outside
Club Orient.
There are "American Green" multi-layer surface
tennis courts. Guests play free. Tennis racquets are available
free of charge at Reception. Tennis balls can be purchased
at L'Orientique Boutique.
Snorkelling, wind-surfing, canoes and pedalos. Sailboats
and catamarans are available for rent to take you to and from
the Orient Bay islands. Approx. 3 times a week there is the
opportunity to take a clothes-optional cruise on the Tiko-Tiko
to the beautiful island of Tintamare approx. costs $80 per
person.
Masseuses work in a dedicated fitness centre as well as on
the beach in the open air!
Night life
Several of the larger hotels on the islands have discos and
casinos. Over 300 small restaurants offer a wide variety of
local Creole and international speciality dishes.

Entertainment
Every Wednesday night the manger holds a cheese and wine party
in the Papagayo Restaurant. It is a great way to get to know
the other holidaymakers and to make new friends. Twice a week
a Jazz or Reggae bands draw people to the dance floor.
For families
Baby cots and high chairs are available on request. Baby sitting
can be arranged. Children under 18 accompanied by an adult
stay free.
Maid service
Provided daily including fresh towels. Bed linen changed every
3 days. Beach towels are available at reception and can be
exchanged daily.
Other facilities
The Orientique Boutique boasts an art gallery and offers an
exclusive line of clothing, tee-shirts, pareos, jewellery,
accessories, souvenirs and many other gifts. Open 08.00hrs
to 17.30hrs.
The food market carries a wide selection of food products
including beef, chicken and fish. Fresh pastries and bread
are delivered daily. Suntan lotions and many other drugstore
items are also available. Open 08.00hrs to 17.30hrs.
Money
Currency US Dollars (or Euro reception only). Banking
hours are Monday to Friday 08.30hrs to 16.00hrs (differs slightly
for each bank).
Some banks are open on Saturdays.
Major credit cards are accepted at most shops, hotels and
restaurants.
The nearest ATM is in Philipsburg at the ABN-AMRO Bank.
Reception, restaurant, supermarket and The Orientique Boutique
accept major credit cards.
Reception will exchange traveller's cheques.
