Beach, jacuzzi and your veranda are clothes optional, all other facilities (eg office, bar, gardens) are textile, but a thong or wrap will do.

Flights from Heathrow (Air Jamaica) and Gatwick (British Airways) also charters to Montego Bay.

Transfers

90 mins from Montego Bay. Approx. US $100.00 for a return journey, for 2 people. Flights by light aircraft (details available through Dune) from Montego Bay approx. 15mins.

Car Hire

Available from £299.00 per week, through Dune.

Around and about Apple Valley, Crocodile Safari on Black River, Mayfield Falls, YS Falls, Appleton Rum & Sugar Tour, Plantation Tour, Lighthouse in Negril, Close by Duty Free, Supermarket, Chemist, Photo and various other shops.

Beaches and activities

Firefly has its own beach, which is clothes optional. Golf, horse riding and bike hire are nearby. Also available at the nearby Swept Away Hotel Complex (this is a textile hotel, which is frequently visited by Firefly guests). Sports Centre, sauna, tennis, (10 courts, day and night) gym, swimming pool, squash and aerobics. The facilities at Swept Away are free to Firefly Guests with membership cards which can be borrowed from the office.

Night Life

Free weekly beach party with Rum Punch, featuring reggae and calypso music. Often with bonfire and dancing. Alternatively there may be a garden party.

At the beach bar you can order breakfast, snacks, fruit juices, food and mixed drinks.

Entertainment

For late evening, or all night, there are many atmospheric bars along the beach from quiet and romantic to those with music. Most nights there are reggae concerts at different locations along the beach.

Activities

Water-skiing, jogging on the beach, fishing, sailing, volleyball, para-sailing, jacuzzi, wind-surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving and swimming.

For families

Families welcome but no childcare / play facilities. Cots are provided.

Maid Service

Daily maid service is included. At an extra cost you can have a cook, laundress or baby-sitter. Bed linen is changed mid-week or every 3 days. Towels are changed daily for beachfront penthouse suite, every 2 days for other accommodation.

Other Facilities

Swept Away Sports Complex is open from 07.30hrs to 22.30hrs Beach bar open from 07.00hrs to 22.00hrs in winter and 08.00hrs to 16.30hrs or 18.00hrs in summer.

Money Matters

Currency Jamaican Dollar. US Dollar widely accepted.
Banking hours are Monday to Thursday 09.00hrs to 14.00hrs Fridays 09.00hrs to 12noon and 14.30hrs to 17.00hrs.

Major credit cards are accepted at most shops, hotels and restaurants.

The nearest ATM is at Scotiabank approx. 2.5kms.
